UI Implementation, and New Cutscene Designs (Guardians of RPG v1.02 Update)


Hello everyone!

I've decided to make Monday the official weekly update post day, because frankly I have been a little inconsistent with my posting as of late already . This will just be yet another thing that helps regulate my scheduling and keep me focus.

Previous Goals

In the last update video, I had given myself the goal of completing the UI elements for the following windows:

  • Player Information Window
  • Inventory Window
  • Move Set Window
  • Quest Window
  • Option Window
  • Tiro Town Window
  • Chop Shop Window

I have successfully created the windows for everything except for the inventory screen. Upon finishing, I had realized that I forgot to add a "USE" button for when you click on an item (I am not immune to stupidity lol.) Therefore, I would put this at a 6.5/7.

Cutscenes

I wanted to try to make cutscenes in a different way than how I did it in my previous installment. Instead of just having events play out and you're forced to click on the screen until the cut scene is over, I wanted to make them in a way that you get to decide to a degree what happens in the story. This requires me to rework how I have done them in the past, so I want to try to work on really nailing this for the rest of this week, so that I can work on actually making the cut scenes for the story.

New Goals

So my new goals are as follows:

  • Update Inventory window to enable use item method.
  • Create new cut scene feature for game

And like I said earlier, I will be trying to post every week starting on Monday so be expecting that soon.
